This year, hope runs on young legs.
IronSam returns with a mission far greater than distance: to inspire a movement powered by hope, justice and compassion. Over five schools, he will run more the distance of a marathon (26.2 miles) — but the true strength of this challenge lies in the hands — and hearts — of the children running beside him. Hundreds of students will take on personal running goals, each one choosing to take a step, to move, and to believe in their own potential. Among them, five extraordinary relay teams will carry something more than just momentum — they’ll carry Batons of Hope, passed from school to school like torches of literal hope, unity, and belief for a connected and compassionate community.
Every step these young runners take is a declaration: We are the future, and we choose hope, justice and compassion.
Day 2, the challenge shifts — but the mindset deepens.
IronSam will take on a punishing 125-mile solo bike ride, driven not by ego, but by compassion for the children and young lives in his community. At the same time, those same student teams will return, stepping up once more to complete a 125-mile relay ride — all within the confines of their local Sainsbury’s foyer. They’ll ride through fatigue, cheer each other on, and prove that hope isn’t just an idea — it’s alive and beating at the heart of our community.
This isn’t about breaking records.
It’s about passing hope from one child to another — from one school to the next — and watching it grow.
This challenge isn’t just running or cycling, it’s empowering a generation to believe that compassion is strength, that hope is alive, and that even the smallest runner can carry something powerful enough to change their world.
